PPE Distribution from Texas Division of Emergency Management
From Mike Wisko, Executive Director, Texas Commission on Fire Protection:
The Texas Division of Emergency Management is working to distribute personal protective equipment to the Texas Fire Service. This PPE currently consists of N-95 and surgical masks. These masks are palletized. TDEM and TEEX will arrange for delivery of these masks to your location.
While the State will maintain a stockpile of these supplies, by distributing them to your local jurisdiction you will have them readily available. The goal is to ensure that your local agency and participators have sufficient PPE on hand for the coming months. TDEM also wants to make sure that volunteer fire departments and other entities across the State have sufficient supplies.
A TEEX representative may have already reached out to you to determine your needs and capacity. If you would like to request some of these supplies, feel free to contact your TDEM regional rep or your TCFP Compliance Officer who will forward your requests to me. In addition, TDEM is also asking that you serve as a regional hub to supply smaller agencies if possible.
Together we are making Texas stronger every day and this latest mission will help make sure that we continue down that path.
